About Us

Founded over 30 years ago and based in many towns in Leinster, Fit Kids/Fit Teens was set up to encourage young people to stay fit and healthy both physically and mentally through dance, deportment and drama. Much more though than just a Dance Club, it has been described as a ‘movement’! Children from 3 years old to adults learn the latest dance styles at their weekly classes while gaining confidence and making lifelong friends. Those who are extremely motivated have the opportunity to train and compete at national level and on the world stage. Not only is this an incredible experience but it helps them build fundamental life skills. Equally welcome are those who are not competitive but enjoy the 'fun' of the classes, learning the latest moves and taking part in Shows and Displays if they wish.

All of the Instructors have grown up in the Fit Kids/Fit Teens ‘family’ and many of these young dancers have followed careers in this field. All Instructors are Garda vetted and many of them have also gained qualifications in working with children with extra needs and education.

Over the years Fit Kids/Fit Teens have had the honour of proudly representing Ireland globally, bringing home the Gold and earning the respect of the worldwide Hip Hop community. They are grateful for the support from local TD’s and Councillors who acknowledge their important role in this society and even President Higgins who described them as ‘wonderful Role Models’.

Our very own FKFT Crew wowed the Judges and the public on TV3’s IRELAND’S GOT TALENT and were crowned Runner’s Up 2018. Many will also remember their RAW EDGE CREW’s success in the very first series of Sky’s GOT TO DANCE! The Dance School has also enjoyed great TV success with performances on TV shows including The Late Late Toy Show, TV3 Toy Show, AbraKIDabra, Kazoo, Podge and Rodge, Saturday Night Show, The Band Stand, Operation Transformation, Sky’s Got To Dance, The All Ireland Talent Show, Ireland AM, Ballet Chancers, Elev8, many TV commercials and much more. They have performed wonderful Flash Mobs including Ryanair(in Manchester Airport and Glasgow), The Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival, Disrupting Alzheimer’s and RTE Halloween Special.​

Fit Kids (3 to 6 years) enjoy follow along dance routines to their favourite songs from TV/Movies and age appropriate music. They also learn to take instruction, be part of a team through games and gain great confidence showcasing their individual ‘moves’.

Junior Fit Teens (7 to 12 years) focuses on learning the foundations of Hip Hop dance styles including Poppin, Locking, House, Krump, Breaking and much more while keeping the ‘fun’ element alive.

Senior Fit Teens (12 to 21 years) focuses on learning all aspects of Hip Hop. They enjoy the routines, cyphers and battles and have the opportunity of making lifelong friends through the weekly classes and also the many events that they can partake in.

Fees: €10 per class. Family discount: €18 for 2 siblings. €20 for 3 siblings. €24 for 4 siblings.

Parents are usually welcome to stay and watch the classes and join in the fun if they wish.
